WATER SKILLS FOR LIFE - What we do

Teaching A Skill for Life to Save a Life

Water Skills for Life is a not for profit charity organization, which was incorporated on 11 March 2011. The charity is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who provide assistance in the prevention of drowning.

Our vision is to provide swimming and water safety skills and knowledge to children and adults, teacher training  and funding assistance, both in Australia, on the northern beaches of Sydney, and in Vietnam. Learn all about us on our ABOUT page- and see our NEWS page

OUR PASSIONATE VOLUNTEERS

Who We Are

We want to bring confidence and competence in the water. Wherever people are at risk, we want to bring confidence and competence in the water. That is the purpose of our charity, for which we have won awards and provided water safety and swimming skills to those in our local community and overseas in Vietnam. Read more about this program HERE. why we do it

Powered by Passion for Saving Lives

Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia have released the annual National Drowning Report indicating that last Summer, 86 people lost their lives to drowning in Australia. Each death left families and communities devastated. Drowning over Summer 2020/21 increased by 30% compared to the previous Summer (2019/20).

And it's not just Australians drowning - Many people overseas are too poor or are unable to access lessons to learn how to swim or gain skills in water safety, and thus our partnership in Vietnam with Swim Vietnam and Aquatic Training School – Swim Vietnam.

Drowning is the leading cause of death for those under the age of 19 in Vietnam, killing more than 3,000 children and adolescents annually
